The profile

Atlanta-based operator of twelve regulated exchanges and six clearing houses, founded in May 2000 by Jeffrey Sprecher to trade over-the-counter natural gas and owner of the New York Stock Exchange since 2013, with large data and mortgage technology businesses built through acquisitions including Interactive Data, Ellie Mae and Black Knight. On 19 January 2026 NYSE said it was developing a tokenized securities platform for continuous trading of US listed equities and exchange-traded funds, settling onchain against stablecoins and tokenized cash while shareholders keep dividend and governance rights, with BNY and Citigroup supporting tokenized deposits across ICE's clearing houses. Separately the group has committed about $1.64bn to Polymarket, $1bn in October 2025 and a further $600m announced on 27 March 2026. That is an equity position in a prediction market venue rather than a data licence, and ICE says it is not expected to move its own financial results.
