The profile

MoonPay's business has been the on-ramp. Its own pages say it "simplifies access to buy, sell and trade crypto using everyday payment methods like cards, Apple Pay, PayPal and Venmo, while also providing simple tools to send, receive and manage stablecoins", and describe the company as providing "the trusted infrastructure to onboard users into the blockchain-based financial ecosystem safely and seamlessly". MoonPay USA LLC is a registered money service business with NMLS ID 2071245. The direction of travel is from consumer conversion towards infrastructure sold to other firms: the enterprise business acquired as Iron now trades as MoonPay Enterprise and sells stablecoin APIs to developers, and the North Capital agreement of 23 September 2026 would add regulated securities capability to the same platform. Two pages MoonPay controls give two different measures of its size, and neither says which is current. The release announcing the North Capital agreement says the company "serves more than 35 million customers in 180 countries and more than 1500 enterprise clients across crypto and fintech", and dates the founding to 2019. moonpay.com/about-us says "nearly 30 million customers" and infrastructure "for nearly 500 companies across the decentralized economy", and gives the same founding year. So this record carries the range rather than either figure, and the founding year, which both pages agree on.

Products and services

MoonPay Enterprise
The business-facing arm, formerly Iron, which sells stablecoin application programming interfaces to developers. It is the part of the group that would make North Capital's registrations useful to firms other than MoonPay itself.

On the record

MoonPay agrees to buy North Capital and its broker-dealer, ATS and transfer agent registrations

A definitive merger agreement would make North Capital Investment Technology a wholly owned MoonPay subsidiary, bringing two SEC-registered broker-dealers, the PPEX alternative trading system, a transfer agent and an investment adviser inside a payments company. MoonPay states no price; CoinDesk and Fortune each put it above $60m in stock on unnamed sources.
