The profile

DBS describes itself as a leading financial services group in Asia with a presence in 19 markets, headquartered and listed in Singapore, positioned across Greater China, Southeast Asia and South Asia, and carrying AA- and Aa1 credit ratings. Its digital asset work sits inside the transaction banking business rather than in a separate venture. DBS Token Services, launched in 2024, is the bank's suite of blockchain-powered banking services for round-the-clock programmable value transfer, and DBS Treasury Tokens is the treasury and liquidity management product running on the bank's own permissioned chain; the bank is also a founder of Partior, the interbank payments network. On the interoperability side it is the only Asian-headquartered bank in the core design group of twelve banks shaping the architecture of Swift's digital ledger, and on 5 September 2026 it executed with Citi's New York office what the two banks describe as the first successful weekend dollar payment between Singapore and the United States using tokenized deposits over that ledger, settling in minutes against an industry norm of up to two business days. Until that transaction the bank's tokenized deposit services had only served DBS clients. The bank's stated case for the capability is corporate rather than retail: it cites its own New Realities, New Possibilities research finding that half of finance leaders are exploring blockchain-powered capabilities as part of their liquidity and foreign exchange toolkit, and third-party work projecting Asia's outbound cross-border payments at $24 trillion by 2033 against $13.5 trillion in 2025.
