The profile

CoinEx says it was established in 2017, that its core team came from global internet and financial firms and included early practitioners and investors in the industry, and that it was guided by a user first brand ethos. It listed more than 600 crypto assets and published price information on more than 600, and ran spot, margin, futures and other derivatives trading alongside fiat and peer-to-peer purchase, an Earn and staking range, margin lending, and strategy products including auto-invest and spot and futures grids. Beyond the exchange it operated CoinEx Wallet, described as a decentralised multi-cryptocurrency wallet, CoinEx Vault, described as multi-signature and cold wallet asset management, the proof-of-stake CoinEx Smart Chain, and OneSwap, a decentralised venue combining automated market making with an order book. CET was the platform token. Its closing notice of September 2026 is the fullest account it has published of itself, and the detail that matters is the ordering. Non-spot services end on 22 September 2026 and spot trading on 29 September, at which point non-USDT holdings are sold in outside markets and the net proceeds credited in USDT, assets with no outside liquidity are delisted with the platform disclaiming custody or redemption, CET is bought back at 0.005 USDT with no quantity limit, and the CoinEx Smart Chain and OneSwap stop. Withdrawals run until 02:00 UTC on 22 December 2026, after which unwithdrawn USDT passes into independent custody carrying a monthly fee of 5 per cent of the closing balance, with claims closing on 22 August 2028. CoinEx Wallet and CoinEx Vault are excluded from the cessation.

Products and services

CET

Custody fee
A monthly charge of 5 per cent of the balance held at the close of the withdrawal period, levied on USDT nobody withdrew by 02:00 UTC on 22 December 2026. Claims through support@coinex.com close on 22 August 2028.
CoinEx Smart Chain
A proof-of-stake chain for decentralised applications, run alongside the OneSwap venue. Both stop on 29 September 2026, and the cross-chain bridge redemption window closes with them.
